Backsplashes and shower walls with small gray marble
Kitchen backsplashes and shower walls are this tile's wet-area uses. Besides these, it is laid on the indoor floors and walls of homes and commercial spaces, and on light-traffic floors in homes. In the shower it is applied to walls only; it is not recommended for shower floors or open-air areas. The small rectangle suits both a brick-like half-offset layout and straight rows. Backsplash options are on the kitchen backsplash page.
Preparation before laying gray honed marble
The tones of the gray pieces are never identical; opening several boxes and mixing the pieces as you lay them prevents light and dark pieces from clustering in one place. After installation, sealer is applied to the porous marble, and this layer is refreshed at intervals. Cleaners containing vinegar and lemon leave marks on marble; use an acid-free product. The honed surface shows small scratches less than a glossy surface. Take the cutting and waste allowance into account when ordering. Other marble tile varieties are on this page.
