It is not always easy to find the earthy warmth of travertine and the shine of a polished surface in the same sink. The Avorio Polished Filled Travertine Como Sink combines ivory tones with a glossy finish, offering a bathroom piece that is both natural and sophisticated.
In this model, the pores of the travertine were first closed with filler, and then the surface was polished to give it a glossy appearance. The polished finish reflects light and brings out the tone transitions and natural pattern within the stone. Under this shine, Avorio's beige-ivory color takes on a brighter, cleaner look; it makes the space feel airier even in small bathrooms that receive little light. Fill marks and color distribution vary from piece to piece, giving each sink its own identity.
In the Como design, the front and side exterior surfaces are worked with vertical flutes. The front corners are rounded, while the back edge is kept straight; this allows the sink to sit against the wall or countertop backsplash for a clean joint. On the polished surface, each flute carries a separate line of light, and the front of the sink looks almost like a shimmering curtain. A width of 40 cm, a length of 55 cm and a height of 15 cm produce a low, long form.
The sink is carved from a single block of travertine and finished by hand in Türkiye. The drain hole is located in the center of the basin floor.
The Como sink has no faucet hole, so you have two options. A concealed wall-mounted faucet leaves the countertop completely clear and displays the glossy fluted front without interruption; it is ideal especially for newly built or extensively renovated bathrooms. If you want to keep the existing plumbing, a tall-body faucet mounted on the countertop is a practical alternative. In either case, aligning the spout with the center of the basin reduces water splashing.
Fixtures in shiny gold, chrome or champagne tones support the shine of polished travertine. In a bathroom designed with light gray or white walls, mirrored cabinets and slim-profile lighting, this sink creates an atmosphere reminiscent of hotel comfort.
Compared to marble, polished travertine offers a more earthy and more intimate shine. The tonal waves in the structure of the travertine create a slight sense of depth beneath the polish; the surface manages to stay both glossy and natural. This balance is an ideal middle ground for those who want to modernize a rustic bathroom or add warmth to a modern one. Pair the sink with a light oak vanity for a natural serenity, or with a dark walnut countertop for a more sophisticated contrast. In both approaches, the ivory tone works like a surface that increases the light in the space.
Polished stone is sensitive to acidic substances; lemon, vinegar or limescale removers can leave dull marks on the surface. Use a pH-neutral liquid and a microfiber cloth for cleaning, and dry off the water after use. This habit protects both the fill and the stone, keeping the shine of the Avorio Como vibrant for a long time.
Options similar to the glossy ivory surface of polished Avorio are in the travertine sink collection; marble, onyx and andesite models are on the stone sinks page.
