A glossy marble surface virtually puts its veins on stage the moment it catches the light. Calacatta Picasso Polished Marble Como Sink brings the purple and lilac veins on the white base forward with the depth the polish provides, and turns this sheen into a rhythmic texture with its fluted front.
Calacatta Picasso is known for its veins, which stretch like free brushstrokes in purple, lilac and gray tones across a white canvas. The polished surface increases the contrast of these veins; colors look more saturated and lines sharper. As light reflects off the surface, the tonal transitions deep within the stone become more distinct, and the sink takes on a different expression in different lighting conditions throughout the day. The pattern of the piece that reaches you is unique, since it belongs to that particular section of the block in the quarry.
The front and side outer surfaces of the sink are shaped with vertical flutes. On polished marble, the ridge of each flute catches the light while the spaces between remain in shadow, so an elegant rhythm of fine, glossy lines appears on the surface. The front corners are rounded, while the back edge is left straight so it sits flush against the wall or back panel. The body is carved from a single piece of marble with no joints; the rectangular basin measuring 40 × 55 × 15 cm slopes down toward the central drain. The sink is finished by hand in Turkish stone workshops.
Polished Picasso suits classic and elegant bathroom designs. You can achieve monochrome unity with white marble or light gray stone countertops, and a striking contrast with dark lacquered cabinets. To accentuate the lilac veins, powder, lavender or light gray tones can be chosen for the walls. Chrome, polished nickel and gold-plated fixtures reflect the shine of the polish and provide a cohesive look.
With this model, which has no faucet hole, you supply water through a wall-mounted outlet or a tall, slender mixer rising from the countertop. The wall option leaves no obstruction in front of the fluted front and preserves the sink's architectural line.
Polished marble is sensitive to acidic substances; lemon juice, vinegar, some shampoos and limescale removers can leave dull stains on the glossy surface. Therefore, use pH-neutral cleaners and soft microfiber cloths, and avoid abrasive sponges. Drying water droplets after use helps preserve the shine for a long time. You can clean between the flutes with a soft brush.
The 40 cm width leaves room beside it for a soap dish or a small tray, even on narrow countertops. While the 15 cm low body makes the sink look light, the 55 cm length offers a basin sufficient for daily use. Because the polished white base reflects light, it makes windowless or small bathrooms look more spacious and bright. Adding hidden LED lighting beneath a mirror placed above the sink highlights the glossy ridges of the flutes and creates a striking look in the evening hours as well.
Sheen, rhythm and color: Calacatta Picasso Como is set to be the first object to catch the eye in your bathroom.
