Floor and wall junction with gray marble baseboard
A baseboard is a finishing piece that covers the line where the wall meets the floor. It is used on indoor floors and walls, on backsplashes and on the wall side of showers. Other liners and baseboards are on the border and accessories page, matte stones on the honed marble page.
Calculating meters of baseboard and care
Measure the perimeter of the room in meters: 3.3 of the 30.5 cm long pieces go into each meter; add an allowance for cutting and waste. Since the tone and veining of marble vary from piece to piece, lay out the baseboards that will sit side by side beforehand and look at them. On a honed surface, scratches and wear are less visible than on polished stone. Sealer is applied to the porous stone, and this process is repeated at regular intervals. Do not add acidic products to the mopping water; use a pH-neutral cleaner.
