Herringbone mosaic on the shower floor
It can be used on shower floors and shower walls; the dense joints between the sticks help with grip on a wet floor. It can also be used as a kitchen backsplash and on lightly used floors inside the home. A herringbone sheet has many grout lines, so the chosen grout color noticeably affects the look. For other patterns, see the marble and stone mosaics page, and for wet area options, the shower floor and wall products page.
Piece count and grout for the herringbone sheet
There are 10.7 sheets per square meter; set aside a few extra sheets for cutting and waste. Since the stone's tone varies from piece to piece, lay the sheets by mixing them from different boxes. With white marble, the adhesive must also be white, otherwise color may show through from beneath the thin sticks. Sealer is applied after grouting and refreshed over time; when wiping the herringbone floor, use a pH-neutral cleaner, not an acidic one.
