Floors, walls and countertops with 40.6x61 cm Cappuccino
Bathroom floors and walls, residential countertops and backsplashes, and shower walls are where this tile is used; indoor floors and walls in homes and workplaces are also covered. Since one side is 61 cm, the number of grout joints is reduced on large floors. The tile can be laid either offset or in straight rows. It is not recommended for the shower floor; nor is it used in outdoor areas such as gardens and terraces. For kitchen applications see the kitchen page, and for the bathroom the bathroom tiles page.
Subfloor preparation for heavy, large marble
One tile covers 0.25 m², 4 tiles are needed for 1 m²; a cutting allowance is added to this. A 2 cm stone weighing 53.15 kg per square meter requires a solid substrate if it goes on a wall; since it is a large format, a flat subfloor and an adhesive bed that encloses the entire tile are also needed on the floor. Tone variation is normal in natural stone; mix the slabs and dry-lay first. Porous marble is protected with a sealer and kept away from acidic cleaners. Other natural stone tiles are on this page.
